Born on October 17, 1972, in Oklahoma City, OK, he was the son of Emil and Julieta Hook. The second of five children, he spent most of his life in his hometown of Westminster, CA.
As a child, he enjoyed playing outdoors with his siblings, cousins, and neighbors, going on camping and fishing trips and weekend visits to his grandparent’s house in the countryside.
Mark loved to tinker with electronics and spent his last years as a Wire Technician for a local system integrations company. Mark was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served as a FT2 Petty Officer Second Class on the USS Salt Lake City and on submarine force missions, stationed in San Diego, CA.
He was sent to various locations in Asia. It was during his time in the Navy, he was able to travel and fall in love with his ancestral homeland of the Philippines where he subsequently visited many times.
He attended a local technical school and earned his degrees in Computing and Electronics. Friendship and family were very important to Mark, and he was heavily involved in many family and friend social gatherings. Mark enjoyed taking the time to get to know people and was gentle and kind to all.
A Vigil will be held at 5pm on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Westminster Memorial Park Main Chapel in his memory.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Church in Westminster, CA. Followed by Final blessing, and interment with U.S. Military Honors at Westminster Memorial Park.
