Marilyn Kay (Klein) Smith went to be with the Lord at the age of 70, on May 7th 2017 at 4:15am. She was at home, her son at her bedside, in Stanton California when she succumbed to her battle with pancreatic cancer for the last year and a half. She is, however, victorious as she is now in the company of Jesus! – “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death is your sting?” 1 Corinthians 15:55
Marilyn was born to John and Katie (Miller) Klein at Ashley ND (nearest hospital in Eureka SD) on August 2nd, 1946. She attended the first several years of elementary school at a rural location and then continued on to Wishek where continuing her education graduating High School in 1964. She moved from North Dakota to California where she has since made her home.
Marilyn is survived by her Son, Shawn Misialek of Redwood City, CA, two brothers, Harry and wife Gerri Klein of Lakewood, CA, Donald Klein of North Port, FL, and her brother-in-law, Joe Herr Sr of Westminster CO. She also has 10 Nieces and Nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews plus numerous other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her older sister, Gladys Herr and her sister-in-law, Nancy Klein.
Marilyn loved traveling and spending time RV-ing at the Colorado River in AZ and at Moses Lake, WA. She enjoyed her life, loved her family deeply and loved meeting people, making friends wherever she went. She loved to laugh and you could see her eyes dancing with excitement when she could share something funny. She was truly beautiful inside and out.
Viewing before the service will be held at Westminster Memorial Park on Friday, May 12th, 2017 from 9 to 11am and services will begin at 11am. Her final earthly resting place will be at the park Cemetery.
Marilyn’s family would like to thank everyone for all their wonderful support and prayers throughout her battle and beyond. May the Lord continue to bless you all.
