I will never forget how wonderful your mom and all of you were when I first met my CA cousins.   Even though we had gotten a hotel she demanded we go back get our bags and get our money back - and I knew I had no choice in the matter.  She made my first trip to CA so much fun - her love for life and her family and an open house was unmatched. 🥰  I will also never forget her pierogi recipe! May she Rest In Peace and catch my mom up on all the family gossip in heaven!


For years I was one of Marie’s neighbors. We were bound together by our NYC roots. Marie’s spunky personality and New York accent always enlivened our conversation; however, it was her loving and generous heart that enriched my spirit.

Maryanne was a bridesmaid in my parent's (Roni and Steve) wedding and she was my godmother.  I first visited her CA home back in 1973 after graduating high school and learned her CA name was Marie.  I always loved visiting her, once with my Mom and Aunt Irene and of course many times with my brother George and my husband Ron.  Years ago I loved sitting on her porch swing in the front of her house.   Over the past several years when Ron and I visit my brother George and family in early January, we often biked over to visit with Marie who welcomed us with open arms.  This past January we had the extra treat of visiting with her sister Ronnie as well.  
 Marie was always so proud of her 3 gals, son-in-law and of course her wonderful grandsons.  Ron and I will miss Marie's 
"quiet" voice and her boisterous laugh! She sure loved life and family!    Hope we can all dance together in heaven one day.

Going to see Marie and her family was my home away from home since I moved to California in the early 90’s. My family and I were always invited for dinner during holidays. Her memories of family back east and her ability to stay up-to-date of family life back east was amazing. We will miss Marie very much.

George and I always stopped in when we were in the area and Maryann was always very happy to have us. She treated us like royalty and couldn't do enough for us. She would contact family nearby and make sure they all came to her house to say hello to us and to visit with us while we were there. She was very sharp and kept on top of any news, especially family news. She knew east coast news before we did and shared it with us. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her . Thanks for the wonderful memories.

Mary Ann, Marie as she liked to be called was very dear to me. I would call her and we would talk for a long time, especially about family. She remembered so much about everyone in our family. I will miss her so very much. My only consolation is that she's an angel 😇 watching all of us ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Mom was always so friendly and accepting. One of the sweetest most genuine people I have ever known. I will always remember her yelling to Alicia that I was on the phone, you can take the girl outta New York but you can't take the New York outta the girl!!! She would always ask what color my hair was going to be this week and never judged me in any way shape or form. The world has lost a truly lovely lady and heaven has gained a remarkable, strong,  and loving angel.  Mom, you were one in a million! Love always, Kharol

Marie was a sweet lady who loved her grandchildren. I work in her neighborhood and she would share all the goings on.  We would talk about local Real Estate and the prices in the area. She liked to stop in the open houses.  Then we would chat about her grandkids. She would share what they were doing. I really enjoyed stopping by and seeing her. This last year I didn’t see her.. she wasn’t out in the yard . She was a special lady. I am sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers to you all.   Love Laura Edmondson

I'm so sorry for your loss.  I remember many years ago when she came to NY with Laura as a little girl, she called her Laura lollipop. I didn't get to spend much time with Aunt Marie as I got older, but I always loved seeing her updates thanks to Facebook.
