I always looked forward to the times when Harold and Karleen would come to Arkansas.  Granny, your Aunt Rheua, would get in and get everything  ready so there would be very little to do except  visiting.  I remember listening to the stories but most of all listening to the laughter until  wee hours in the morning.  She loved her family.  Not only did she come in hand with pictures but many stories came with each picture.    Karleen set many examples.  How many people would get their GED and take college courses in their seventies?  I think of that often when I get tired,  discouraged or feel like quitting.  Aunt Bessie and Karleen  also had a faith in their Heavenly Father they so readily shared with all of us.  It was anniversary and birthday cards that I was sent beginning with Aunt Bessie  and after she was gone, Karleen continued to do so. It was Uncle Olin and Aunt Bessie who sent me a white Bible for graduation. Karleen and Aunt Bessie both had a way about them that made you feel so very special.  They both made sure that we knew where we stood with the Lord.  What we do with the things that were deposited into each and everyone of us can be their legacy living on through us.  If we allow the same God to work in our hearts as they allowed Him to work in theirs, what they taught and showed can last for generations to come.  . Karleen will be missed very much by all   You would not be feeling such a great loss had you not had the greatest of  blessings in having her as mother, grandmother and sister. Karleen or "Mom" as I would endearingly call her at times was a true friend to me.  I've known her for 24 years and in all those years she has been there with me through good times and tough times.

I particularly cherished how she always made me feel so special on my birthdays.  The occasion would always be a reason to eat out, laugh, swap recipes and share stories.  But most of all it was the love for the Word that we treasured the most.  We would discuss scriptures, good sermons that had been heard lately and just talk about the goodness of the Lord and how He has blessed us both.  Karleen's love for the Lord was a true testimony in the way she lived her life and how much love she constantly displayed for her family and friends. I'm thankful for the years we were able to share together and rejoice in the day that we will see each other once again.

My Grandma was the greatest example to me of God's grace. I'll be forever grateful for the time I got to spend with her these last few years. We watched our favorite shows together, Little House on the Prairie, Bonanza and Walker Texas Ranger. She shared so many memories of her childhood with me and even allowed me to ask her any questions. I learned some of my best cooking from her but most of all we shared a love of Jesus and had many bible studies together. I'm so thankful she is with our Lord and I do look forward to seeing her again someday. Love you Grandma, Raelene
