Major John O. Kaylor, USMC, USA, Retired, of Huntington Beach, CA peacefully passed away at his home on January 14, 2013 with family and friends by his side at the age of 92. He was born on July 13, 1920 in Beebe, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife Barbara; John’s four children Joneille, Nick, John, and Michelle; Barbara’s two children Kathy and Robert, and 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Major Kaylor was a Marine pilot in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was awarded The Distinguished Flying Cross with one Oak Leaf Cluster and an Air Medal with seven Oak Leaf Clusters. In 1958 he became one of the first Army helicopter instructors at Fort Rucker, Alabama.
A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be held at Westminster Memorial Park , 14801 Beach Boulevard, Westminster, CA on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 12:00 noon (viewing to be held at the same location on Sunday, January 20 from 12:00pm-4:00 pm).
