Val Janet Cross, 85, of Stanton passed on July 9, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She was born February 14,1935 in Napa County, CA and adopted by Eugene and Ione Wilson of San Rafael, CA shortly after her birth. She lived most of her youth in Marin County, where she met her soulmate Richard Lee Cross. Richard and Val married on February 19,1953 in Gila, AZ. Together they raised three children, Richard Jr, Beckey and Dorothea at their home in Westminster, CA.
Val was one of the sweetest people you could ever come across. She could, at times, be a very sassy and stubborn woman, very set in her ways, but that's what made you love her even more! She always spoke her mind and feelings. Val was always there for her family and friends when she was needed the most!
She loved animals, and was a long-standing member of AKC for 60+ years, making many close friends along the way. Over the years, she raised show cats, 2 bobcats, rabbits, and livestock, but her true love was in raising dogs. She raised several breeds of dogs, including AKC Champion Labradors, Cocker Spaniels and was most known for breeding the Merle color in the Chihuahua breed. She also loved her collection of knick-knacks and life-sized statues that made her yard look like a zoo. It always seemed like Christmas at her house.
Val will be joining her husband Richard and her daughter Dorothea in Heaven. Val's remaining children Beckey and Richard Jr, along with her grandchildren Jana, Jene, Danielle and Jessica, and her great grandchildren Whitney, Ivy, Dawson, MaKenna, Gannon and Berkley, will all miss her deeply. She will ALWAYS be missed but never forgotten!!!
May she rest in peace and enjoy touching grandpa's butt again in Heaven... HeHe
