A CELEBRATION OF LIFE service will be held at Westminster Memorial Park and Mortuary, Main Chapel, in Westminster, CA, on December 11, 2021 at 2:30 pm.
James was born in Saigon, Vietnam in January 28, 1969. He graduated from Loyola University of Chicago for his undergraduate and medical degrees. He subsequently trained in neurosurgery residency at Loma Linda, CA. After starting private practice in Utah, he obtained a law degree at Brigham Young University Law School in 2008. He then moved to Louisiana to continue his medical and law practice. He was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 2009, and United States Fifth Circuit in 2010. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Louisiana State Bar Association.
James served as an Adjunct Lecturer in Law at Tulane University School of Law in 2013. He taught Health Care Law & Regulation at the Tulane University School of Law. At the Tulane University School of Medicine, he has been a clinical instructor for Bioethics Seminar, Health Care Law & Regulation, and Affordable Care Act since 2015. He received an appointment as Adjunct Faculty of The Program in Medical Ethics and Human Values at Tulane University School of Medicine.
He and his family moved to Orange County California to continue his practice. He was on staff at Orange Coast Memorial Hospital and Fountain Valley Regional Hospital.
James is survived by his wife, Thuc , and their 4 children: Jessica, Jonathan, Jackson, and Jillian; his parents, Diep Tran and Phuong Ngo; sister and brother-in-law Carol and Andrew Duke and their 2 children, Alexis and Erica; father-in-law Hien Tran and mother-in-law Oanh Nguyen; brother-in-law David Tran; sister-in-law Jean Tran; many uncles, aunts, cousins from all over the country.
