Eleanore Macy, 80, of Menifee, California passed away on October 20, 2016. Eleanor was a loving mother, exceptional grandmother, straight talking best friend to many and all-around force of nature! Survived by daughters Vanessa and Sally, beloved grandchildren Amanda and April, son-in-law Willie, brothers Richard and Bill, and numerous loving friends and relations.
Born in Chicago, Eleanore brought her wit and adventurous spirit to Southern California in the early 1960s, where she raised her family with husband Greg of 38 years and enjoyed success as a real estate broker. Her irreverent sense of humor could make you laugh and blush all at once, but if you were with Ellie, you knew you were in for a good time. Travels took her to world destinations where she white-water rafted, rode a camel (because she could!), cooked at Le Corden Bleu – whatever the adventure, Eleanore lead the charge.
Confidant, mentor, teacher, best friend, an inspiration, smart, funny, one of a kind, dynamic go-getter and great cook – all have been used to describe this remarkable woman. Her friends were her oxygen, but Eleanore’s lifeblood was her granddaughters. Their relationship with Grammy was joyous and impactful, and her absence leaves a gaping hole in all of us.
Eleanore’s second marriage, to Bob Lovell, was short and sweet, leading to a new chapter in Menifee where she remained active in real estate but mostly lived the good life nurturing her beautiful home and garden, traveling, entertaining friends old and new.
Our precious mom, grammy, sister, aunt, cousin and friend will be missed deeply. May she rest in peace and know that her love of family and zest for life will forever live on in our hearts and memories.
Services are private, with a family memorial luncheon to follow in Menifee.
