Earl Leo Shea

He was born in Downey, CA, on June 7, 1924. After graduation from Huntington Beach HS he enlisted in the US Navy where he served as a Lieutenant in WWII in the Pacific theatre until his honorable discharge in 1946. He went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of California Berkeley in 1949.

Earl's career took him to Michigan, New Jersey and Ohio before his return to Orange County in 1978. He went on to retire from Rockwell International and pursue a second career in real estate with his wife, Louise.

Earl was a Master Mason since 1954, a member of long standing of the Elks and Shriners. He was an avid golfer having played courses all over the world.

Earl and Louise loved to travel - having visited many foreign places, as well as the numerous trips to Northern California, Salt Lake City, UT and North Canton, OH to visit their grandchildren.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents Charles Leo Shea and Elizabeth M. Shea, his sister Gloria Shea and wife Louise.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Erin and Todd Werstler of North Canton, OH, his son and daughter-in-law John and Terry Marsh of Salt Lake City, UT and daughter and son-in-law Susan and Larry Schimmel of Rough and Ready, CA. Earl and Louise are also survived by their grandchildren, Brian and Kristin (Moresi) Werstler and his first great grandson due in February 2014 all of Washington DC, Amy Werstler of Columbus OH, Katherine Marsh of Orange County CA and Greta Schimmel of Orange County CA and Kurt Schimmel, a US Army officer stationed at Fort Bragg, NC.

The family would like to express their profound and sincere gratitude to Jratsri Dawson (Took), Earl and Louise's dear friend and caregiver, for her many years of love and care.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2014 at the Center for Spiritual Living in Seal Beach, CA at 1pm.

It was Earl's wish to be inurned beside his wife Louise, in the Garden of Memories at Westminster Memorial Park, Westminster California.
