As many of you know, our sweet Dad, Craig Mortensen, passed away Wednesday afternoon November 25th. He was walking with family on the Mariposa Grove Trail in Yosemite, when he suddenly collapsed. Kay, her husband Matt, and a miracle group of bystanders, which amazingly included an army medic, a physician, a lifeguard, and many others, were with him, and worked to save his life. Despite their heroic efforts, he could not be revived. We are beyond grateful for their valiant efforts. We believe he was spared from suffering, and are grateful he was in a place he loves, with people he loves.
We thank you all for your love, care, concern and support. Dad was powerful in life, and will remain a powerful influence to all of us as we remember him, and honor him. His graveside service will be held at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Huntington Beach on Friday, December 4th at 1pm. Huntington Beach is a special place for our family, and it is where Mom and Dad met and fell in love.
