Charles “Chuck” Carey was born in Oxnard, CA in 1937. He was raised in Los Angeles, CA and Tucson, AZ.
After graduating from UCLA in 1958, he served in the Navy aboard the USS Des Moines. He married Jeanette Langton in 1961 and they travelled to Monterrey, Mexico for his service in the Foreign Consulate. In 1963, he returned to Naval Service aboard the USS Annapolis.
After serving in the Navy, Chuck worked in Computers for many years.
When he retired, he continued to be active in his church, heading the Orangethorpe Learning Center, helping with Hot Meals Ministry and coordinating Second Harvest deliveries.
He had a life-long love of baseball and jazz music.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jeanette; his three children: David, Paul & Alice; five grandchildren: Cayla, Sarah, Castine, Cole and Cash; and two great-grandchildren: Star and Landon.
Charles was interred at a family service on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Westminster Memorial Park, 14801 Beach Blvd, Westminster, CA 92683.
A Celebration of Life Service was held at Orangethorpe United Methodist Church, on October 23, 2021.
