Brant Kristopher Paul Peto passed away in his sleep on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at his home in Huntington Beach, CA surrounded by family and friends. He is the son of Vickie Edwards-Peto and the late Paul Kenneth George Peto of Yorba Linda, CA and the brother of the late Chella Lynn Edwards of Decatur, Alabama. He is survived by his mother, Vickie Edwards-Peto; his son, Jamison Paul Peto, age 4; his sister, Shasta Michelle Lanford of Atlanta, GA; an aunt and uncle, 4 nieces, 1 nephew and cousins; and family in the UK. The funeral will be at Influence Church in Anaheim Hills, CA.
Brant was born in London, England on January 18, 1989 while his mother was there on a work assignment, having met and married his father who was British while living there. Brant lived in the greater London area until he was 9 years old, attending Orley Farm School, a private preparatory school in Harrow on the Hill outside of London. He was active in soccer, rugby and cricket which are popular sports in the UK. His family then moved to Yorba Linda, CA and he lived in California until his death. He attended school first in Yorba Linda continuing his interest in soccer and then graduated from Whittier Christian School in Whittier, CA. Brant attended California Polytechnic State University for 2 years before starting in the work force. Brant worked for several different companies over the next few years, then, in 2012, he started his first company with his best friend/business partner and Cosmic Fog Vapors was born. In 2018, Cosmic Fog Vapors was acquired by Imperial Tobacco. Upon the acquisition, Brant founded his next company, B&R Labs, which continues on today. He was an active investor with holdings in real estate, drug and alcohol recovery as well as medical billing. Brant was diagnosed with brain cancer in January, 2019, initially an anaplastic astrocytoma that was later upgraded to a glioblastoma. Brant fought hard to defeat the disease but complications from the cancer took his life.
The most important thing in Brant’s life was his son, Jamison, born in 2016. Brant was a hand’s on Dad and spent many happy hours nurturing his son. Brant was a keen fisherman and was never more relaxed than when out on the water catching fish. He was thrilled to have joined the 300 club (caught a fish weighing over 300 pounds). He loved international travel including time spent in Europe and had a soft spot for southeast Asia. He especially enjoyed spending quality time with his family/friends.
Viewing will be on Monday, September 7, 2020 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Westminster Memorial Park and Mortuary in the chapel located at 14801 Beach Blvd, Westminster, CA 92683. The funeral will be Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 2:00pm at Influence Church located at 8163 E Kaiser Blvd, Anaheim, CA 92808, followed by a graveside service at Westminster Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rob Crossley of Newport Beach, CA; Abdul Ahmed of Ladera Ranch, CA; Todd Meredith of Yorba Linda, CA; Bert Ruiz of Irvine, CA; Dale Kampfer of Irvine, CA; and Ari Ekizian of Irvine, CA.
