Bill Smith, son of William and Lola (Roach) Smith, loving husband of Patricia R. (Wright) Smith, passed away at his home in Westlake Village after a long battle with cancer. Bill and Pat married in Chico, California in November 1963. He attended Monmouth College and received his degree in Geology in 1953. He worked for Exxon for 35 years as a geophysicist.
He is survived by his wife, Pat, his daughter Tracy, son-in-law Geoff Varney, and his two grandsons G.J. and Timothy Bradford. He is also survived by his sister Betty along with many nieces and nephews. Bill was very involved in his church and with Habitat for Humanity. He loved to run, read and do Sudoku.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The Rev. Dr. Gary Dickey will officiate for Bill's service at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014. A donation may be made to: Assisted Hospice 468 Pennsfield Pl #100 Thousand Oaks, CA 91360 for anyone wishing to do so.
