It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, and grandfather, Steven C. Madsen. He passed away peacefully at age 76 on September 2, 2022. He is survived by Merrily, his wife of 54 years, son Dan Madsen (wife Priscilla), daughter Tamara Esseff (husband Chris), granddaughters Kari and Kiersten Esseff, and brother Ken Madsen.
Steven was born in Logan, Utah, June 22, 1946 and moved to San Fernando Valley as a young child. He served two tours in Vietnam with the Navy, returning home in 1967.
Steven and Merrily married in 1968 and moved to Thousand Oaks in 1978.
His whole career involved trucking repairs. He could build or repair anything with an engine! He avidly enjoyed watching all kinds of car racing and loved to play cards. However, nothing gave him more happiness than watching his children and granddaughters play sports and spending time with family.
At his request there will be no services. The internment will be held privately at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Westlake Village.
