Born 5 November 1942 in Rochester, New York to the late Ralph Eugene Tinker and Edna Mary Tinker (nee’ Montmeny). The family moved from their home in Ithaca, New York in 1952 to settle in Burbank, CA. She attended David Starr Jordan Middle School and John Burroughs High School. She married Gary Lynn Parker, Jr. (son of the late Harry Dyke Parker and Imogene Murphy Parker), 23 November 1963, in Las Vegas, NV, but would later divorce. She graduated from Glendale City College Dental School and would become a dental hygienist for many years. She would later move on to become a 401k administrator for several companies, starting in 1977 with Shadur Levine, Integrated Financial and the last being Qualified Benefits before retiring in January 2011.
Her sons will remember her as Super-Woman, as she was involved in every aspect of their lives, raising them by herself. School room-mother, who made cupcakes and cookies too many to count. Cub and Boy Scout den mother and worked the concession stand at numerous little league baseball games. She was engaged in many of her own outside activities including softball and bowling leagues, social events, and parties, where she was known as “Pantyhose Parker”. She will be remembered for her favorite colors, Red, White, and Blue, her organization and cleanliness (not a thing out of place) at home, unparalleled list making and decorating for EVERY holiday.
She is survived by her three sons, Gary Lynn Parker Jr, of Phoenix, AZ, Lindsey Lee Parker of Valencia, CA, and Beau Lynlee Parker of Van Nuys, CA. 2 grandchildren, Kailey and Carson Parker. A sister, Carol Margaret Umbarger (nee’ Tinker) of Sun Valley, CA., another sister Patricia Ann Solis (nee’ Tinker) predeceased her. Two sisters-in-law, Cathy Parker (nee’ Lamke) of Cypress, CA, Robin Proctor (nee’ Parker) and Brother-in-Law Gary Proctor, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Her three Best Friends, Chris Ewing of Prescott Valley, AZ., Mary Paulson of Canyon Country, CA and Kathi Smith of Oxnard, CA. As well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
