On April 29, 2023 Ralph Stanley Smith passed away at the age of 78. Ralph will forever be remembered by his three loving daughters Lydia LaSalle, Denise Smith, and Danette Molle, as well as his two brothers Warren Smith and Walter Smith, his grandchildren Cherise LaSalle Aguilar and Charles LaSalle, his two great-grandchildren Giovanni Aguilar and Dante Aguilar, and his nieces and nephews.
Born in Burbank, California and raised in Pasadena, California, Ralph attended Occidental College and later earned his Bachelors degree in Spanish from the University of Panama. Ralph proudly joined the United States Army to serve his country during the Vietnam War. He enlisted on March 13th, 1967 and was Honorably Discharged from active duty on March 11th, 1971. While stationed in Panama City, Panama he met his beautiful wife Lydia “Bebita” Gomez and they fell in love and were married on March 22nd, 1969. Ralph and Lydia Smith were happily married for 33 years, until she passed away on December 10th, 2002.
After his service in the military, Ralph started working for the family business Smith Precision Products Company, which was founded by his grandfather in 1938. There he worked for almost forty years with his brothers Warren and Walter Smith. As Vice President, Ralph was a dedicated asset to the family business due to his dedication, devotion, pride, passion, and mechanical abilities.
In his spare time Ralph enjoyed working on cars, being outdoors, and spending time with his three daughters and family. He will always be remembered for his love, kind heart, sense of humor, his stories and laughter, integrity, intelligence, and ingenuity.
