Phyllis Audrey Fiala

Phyllis Audrey Mead Fiala of Anaheim, California went home to be with the Lord on February 14, 2025 at the age of 87. She was born in Derby, England on November 3, 1937 and grew up in nearby Long Eaton, England. She was the second child of Horace Alfred Mead and Cissie Heather Brooks Mead.

She emigrated to California in her early twenties to work as an au pair for a family in Beverly Hills, California, and it was during this time she met her husband, and started a family, living in Simi Valley, California where she resided for a little over 40 years of her life.

She worked as a homemaker for her married life, supporting her family and two children in all their endeavors. In her later years, she enjoyed square dancing, her pets, reading, and puttering around her house and in her garden.

She is predeceased by her parents, sister Sheila Dwyer and brothers Geoffery Mead and David Mead. She is survived by her sisters Margaret Taylor and Elaine Hautz; several nieces and nephews; her two children, Louise Mueller (married to Mike Mueller), and Mark Fiala (married to Joan Heron Fiala); her four grandchildren; Melissa Mueller and her husband Austin Kemp, Laura Mueller and her husband Zach Umfress, Kyle Fiala and Adam Fiala; and three great-grandchildren Annalise Umfress, Claire Umfress, and Bo Kemp.

Services will be held on April 16th at 2:00pm at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Griffin Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village, CA 91362. Interment to immediately follow.
