She was born in Chicago, grew up in Wauwatosa, WI, and graduated from Michigan State University in 1959.
She was a proud mother of a son and daughter and took joy in their accomplishments and successes. Pat was an avid tennis player. She was A rated and enjoyed participating in tournaments until back problems required her to cut back on her play.
She loved her work as a special education teacher at Royal High School in Simi Valley. Pat taught for 38 years until health issues forced her into retirement, after which she volunteered in the classroom for 3 years.
In retirement, Pat took drawing classes. She didn’t think she could draw stick figures, but discovered a hidden talent. Her artwork now adorns every wall in the house.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Ingrid Colon and Maria Rosales, for their outstanding care during her illness.
Pat is survived by her husband, Steve Coyne, daughter, Julie Hughes, son, Don MacLean, daughter-in-law, Brooke MacLean, and grandchildren, Kyle MacLean, Blake MacLean, Trent MacLean, and Alex Hughes.
