Mary Elizabeth Buckley passed away peacefully on February 3, 2016 of natural causes at the Meadowbrook Senior Living Facility in Agoura Hills, CA. She was born on May 6, 1925 in Brooklyn N.Y. to John and Catherine Buckley. She was the eldest of nine children. She graduated from St. Joseph’s College for Women in 1947 with a degree in English Literature. She married Charles Ignatius Buckley, (no relation) also of Brooklyn N.Y., in 1951. They lived in Philadelphia, PA, Teaneck, NJ, and Upper Montclair NJ. She had nine children; Susan (Mark), Charles (Lisanne), John (Sheela), Stephen (Kerry), Marianne (Stephen), David (Margarita), Paul, Thomas (Tamara) and Elizabeth (Thomas). In 1969 she and her family moved to Fullerton CA where she resided until 2011. She earned a master’s degree in Speech Pathology from California State University, Fullerton and worked for the Veterans’ Administration. She managed the Speech Pathology Department for Kaiser-Permanente and retired after twenty-two years of service. She is predeceased by her husband Charles (2000); her sister Mercedes and brothers John and Clifford. She is survived by her brother James, and sisters Francis, Jane, Ann and Catherine; and by all her nine children and twelve grandchildren; Katherine Buckley, Kimberly Buckley, Kelly Buckley, Kaycee Buckley, Karlie Buckley, John-Joseph Buckley, Zachary Buckley, Kevin Buckley, Nichole Buckley, Samuel Buckley, Anne Buckley and Joseph Buckley.
