LINDA PIERCE MOORE, 80, died on March 31, 2012 in Los Angeles, California. Daughter of the late attorney, Solon Wesley Pierce of Deerfield, Wisconsin, Linda graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, before heading to Los Angeles to be executive assistant to Director John Ford. In 1960, Linda began a 25-year career in life insurance, as Prudential’s first female agent in Chicago, and earned the CLU designation. In 1986, Linda went back to school and obtained her J.D. degree from Southern Methodist University and her L.L.M. in taxation from University of San Diego. She worked briefly in Washington D.C., before illness forced her retirement. Linda is survived by her daughter Melinda Moore Johnstone and son-in-law Douglas Johnstone of Los Angeles; her grandchildren, Alexander Doudoumopoulos and Amanda Johnstone; and her brothers Patrick Pierce of Madison and Solon Pierce of Deerfield. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 4 at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park in Westlake Village, California.
