I was a member (and still am) of the Pasadena Casting Club in the early 80's when Jim was our Conservation Committee Chair.  I was at a fishing show and saw Jim manning the CalTrout booth so I went over to chat.  I was a college student at the time and never donated to charity - all my funds at that time were devoted to food, rent and fishing trips.  Through his enthusiasm, charm and obvious commitment to the cause, Jim was able to convince me to join CalTrout and I've been a member since.  

I also got the chance to have him as a fly tying student at our Club's annual beginning tying class, and it was so fun to have him - he really appreciated the opportunity to learn and always had a funny/interesting story to share with the class.

Jim was our next door neighbor from 2001- 2016 when we moved. He was a  wonderful neighbor,  person and craftsman. He will be missed! Rest in peace, Jimbo (our nickname for him).
