Howard is survived by wife, Suzanne Jaffee; children, Brett Jaffee, Danny Jaffee, and Kimberly (Bill) Bauwens; Grandchildren, Jakey Bauwens and Brookey Bauwens; siblings, Sharon Lee and Bruce (Ann) Jaffee. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mynn Jaffee
Howard Jaffee was born on May 10, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, to Joe and Mynn Jaffee. In 1959, Howard graduated from Mumford High School in Detroit. His family moved to California in 1961. Howard graduated from Cal State LA in 1965, with an Advanced Bachelors Degree in History. Howard was a science and graphic arts teacher at Parkman Junior High for most of his career.
In 1965, Howard married Suzanne Jaffee, the love of his life. Their family grew in 1968 when their son, Brett, was born. Howard and Sue moved to the San Fernando Valley in 1968. Their second son, Danny, was born in 1971, and then their daughter, Kimberly, was born in 1973. They moved to Agoura Hills in 1980 where they lived until 2003 when they moved to Dos Vientos.
Sports were one of the things Howard always enjoyed. For many years he coached his children on various sports teams. He also took great joy in watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports.
Howard loved to travel. When his children were growing up the family took countless camping trips in their Aljo trailer. Carpinteria was a favorite spot to camp. Later he enjoyed traveling with his family to one of his favorite destinations, Hawaii. He also loved to take cruises with the family.
Howard’s family will always remember him as a compassionate, loving, and dedicated father/grandfather who supported them in all their endeavors. He was a generous, witty, and caring individual who loved his family more than anything.
A funeral is scheduled for Monday, February 5, 2018, at Pierce Brother Memorial in Westlake Village, CA with a reception to follow at the Jaffee’s Family home. You are all welcome to attend and celebrate Howard's life.
