Harold Lee Jordan, Sr., age 81, formerly of Mound City, MO passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2018 in Woodland Hills, CA. Harold was born March 4, 1936 in Ann Arbor, MI. On April 9, 1954 Harold joined the Army National Guard. During his 3-year enlistment, Harold reached the rank of SGT and achieved expert status with the M-1 Rifle. Harold was honorably discharged April 8, 1957. In 1954, Harold met the love of his life, Suzanne Rae Ballentine. They were married September 8, 1956 in Springfield, OH and then moved to Urbana, OH. Harold was employed by Fischer Plumbing & Heating prior to joining the Urbana Police Department. Harold was an Urbana Police Officer until 1962 at which time Harold and Sue relocated with their four children to Mound City so Harold could join his stepfather’s plumbing and electrical business. In 1966, Harold was elected to serve as Mayor of Mound City. In 1986, Harold and Sue moved to Phoenix, AZ where Harold continued his work as a plumber. In 1998, Harold accepted employment at Universal Piping. Universal Piping became Harold’s extended family for the next 17 years. Harold retired in June 2015 and then he and Sue moved to Woodland Hills, CA to be near their daughter, Kim. Harold enjoyed his work immensely. He treasured spending time with family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and was so loved by all who knew him. Harold was also a longtime member of the Masons. Harold was preceded in death by Suzanne Rae Jordan, his dear wife of 61 years, an older brother Dale and his parents, Roy (stepfather) and Roslyn Wells of Mound City and Paul Jordan (father) of Chattanooga, TN. Survivors include children Kimberly “Kim” Cecil (Brian), Harold L. “Rusty” Jordan Jr. of Woodland Hills, CA; Teresa “Tracy” Jordan and Scott Jordan (Theresa) of Mound City; and 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Mortuary is handling the arrangements and an online Guestbook will be provided by Legacy.com/DignityMemorial.com. A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date and will be held at New Life Apostolic Church in Mound City, MO.
