George Arthur Jones Sr.

George Arthur Jones, 81, of Thousand Oaks, CA passed away April 7, 2018. He was born April 17, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA and a resident of Thousand Oaks since 1974. George is the son of the late Joseph H. and Florence (Shively) Jones. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gladys Fay (Leach) Jones after 61 years of marriage; loving children George Arthur Jones Jr (spouse: Tomasina) of Thousand Oaks, CA, Geoffrey Alan Jones (spouse: Gina) of Moorpark, CA, Glenn Anthony Jones of Thousand Oaks, CA, Gayle Andrea Peterson (spouse: Russell) of Camarillo, CA, Gregory Andrew Jones of Thousand Oaks, CA; six cherished grandchildren, three great grandchildren and his brother, Jesse Jones of Vineland, N.J. George was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. After graduation George worked as an accountant for the Atlantic Richfield Co. for nearly 40 years. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Bethany Church on the Hill, 200 Bethany Ct., Thousand Oaks, CA 91360. The family will receive friends for viewing from 1:30 P.M. until the time of the service. Reception to follow in the Community Room (Fellowship Hall). Burial will take place the following day at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Mortuary, 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd., Westlake Village, CA 91362 beginning at 10 A.M on Monday, April 23,2018.
