Farhad Marvasti of Westlake Village, California passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the age of 67. He was born on January 24, 1957 in Tehran, Iran where he grew up in a close-knit family before coming to the U.S. for school in 1975.
He graduated from The University of Washington with a Bachelors of Science in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering in 1980 and Georgia Institute of Technology with a Masters of Science in Industrial Management in 1982.
He worked and traveled the world as an IT Consultant for nearly 40 years.
He was actively involved in skiing, soccer, travel and especially anything related to family.
He is preceded in death by his father Sadegh Marvasti.
He is survived by his mother Ruth Dohrendorf Marvasti; wife Lauren Gold Marvasti; sons Keon Marvasti (wife Camila), Darius Marvasti (wife Kathryn) and Jordan Marvasti (wife Paige); sister Farzaneh (“Farriba”) Azouri; his cherished grandchildren Bodie, Coraline, Zella, and Miley who brought him immense joy and pride, and a host of other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Farhad was known for his resounding laughter and vibrant personality. He was the life of every party, effortlessly bringing people together with his thoughtful nature and his quick wit. Friends often remarked on his ability to make any gathering feel special, and he leaves behind a vast network of friendships that spanned decades. Farhad’s spirit and warmth touched everyone he met, and his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew him.
The family would like to thank the staff at UCLA oncology, Los Robles Hospital, and Guardian Angels for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
Family and friends are invited to join in honoring a remarkable man - whose laughter and love will be profoundly missed - at a graveside service at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks in Westlake Village, CA on Friday, November 22 at 2:00 pm. Following the service, a gathering will be held at the home of Farhad’s sister Farriba Azouri, where we can gather to eat, share our memories and celebrate Farhad’s life together.
