friend to many. He was called home to be with the Lord and his loving wife on June 25th, surrounded
by loved ones in the comfort of his home.
David was born in Buffalo, New York in 1944 to Helene and Stephen Page. He spent his childhood
running paper routes, dominating bowling leagues and baseball fields, and frequenting the outdoor
hockey rinks during those long Buffalo winters.
In 1965, David decided those long winters were not going to be his forever so he joined a friend headed
to California and with $600 in his pocket set up a life for himself in sunny Los Angeles. He
enrolled at Pierce College in Woodland Hills where he met his beautiful bride Patti during a
fraternity/sorority exchange. He later transferred to Cal State Northridge where he earned both his Bachelor’s degree and his MBA.
David was fond of telling everyone the story of how he got a job in the film industry working for
Technicolor (with Ronny Howard!) after impressing some folks with his skills in a slow pitch baseball
league. From the film industry he went on to work for various banks within the commercial real estate sector. The last 12 years of his career were joyfully spent at Pepperdine University in their real estate department.
David was an avid golfer, Buffalo Bills fan, and legendary storyteller. His happy place was on family
vacations planned around tee times, with a dark ‘n stormy in hand chatting up the nearest listener about
his Polish roots, his daughters’ latest adventures, or how he met his beloved wife. Storytelling will
forever be his legacy.
David is preceded in death by his wife Patti and sister Lisa Smario and survived by his two daughters, Nicole (Ryan) Welch and Megan (Jake) Mathis and his 5 beautiful grandchildren: Will (9), Gracie (6), Sienna (7), Malachi (4) and Eden (1.5). He is also survived by his younger sister Tina Davis.
Family and friends are invited to attend David’s celebration of life at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Westlake Village on August 3rd, 2024 at 2:00 pm. His celebration will be followed by a reception at Zin Bistro Americana at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of David may be made to the Thomas Jon Moore Class of 1962
Memorial Endowment Fund at St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute, 845 Kenmore Ave, Buffalo, NY 14223
