Christine Adler of Thousand Oaks passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, November 10th, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Dr. Richard Adler. She was born June 26th, 1940 in Grandview, Arkansas and raised in Hot Springs Arkansas. Christine attended Hot Springs Sr. High School, and upon graduation attended cosmetology school to become a hair dresser.
In 1962 Christine met Richard Adler and was married on March 11th, 1963. Their first child Marion Kathleen was born in Little Rock Arkansas, and within a year the family of three moved to Southern California. In November of 1966, the family of three had become four, with the arrival of her son Marcus. November of 1968, the family was blessed with another child, Amy. Her youngest child Jennifer arrived in June of 1973 to complete the family of six.
The Adler family moved in 1974 to Westlake Village Ca, where they raised their four children. Christine ran a successful hair salon in Westlake, Christina’s Wings of Beauty, where she loved to make people feel special and beautiful. Along with her business, she was a busy homemaker taking care of everyone’s needs.
Christine, who friends knew her as “Chris” loved entertaining and being together with her children and grandchildren, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen Duncan of Moorpark, Ca. Son in law Gene Duncan (deceased). Grandson Tim Duncan of Simi Valley, Ca. Marcus Adler and daughter in law Michelle Adler. Granddaughter Courtney and grandson Gregory. Amy Stone of Oak Park, Ca. Son in law Michael Stone. Grandsons Christopher and Justin. Jennifer Dunavin, son in law Duane Dunavin. Grandson Liam and granddaughter Camille. Sister Pat James of Ft. Worth Tx, and brother Thomas Hesselbein of Little Rock, Ak.
A celebration of Christine’s life will take place at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Mortuary in Westlake Village on December 7, 2014, at 10 a.m.
