Charlie was born on July 28, 1928, to Charles and Mary Lester in London, England. He immigrated to Canada in 1951, and to the United States in 1958, retiring from Hughes Aircraft Company in 1958. He was a registered electrical engineer and spent the majority of his career in the aerospace industry. In 1978, he married Alice Jones, and they shared 15 happy years together. Upon retirement he became a real estate agent. Charlie enjoyed flying, at one point owning a Piper Colt airplane. He also enjoyed playing various musical instruments: banjo, ukulele, guitar, piano, and organ; and traveling around the country and overseas.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Alice.
Charlie leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Terry McGarey; niece, Christine Schweers and her husband, Robert, their children, Emily and Evan; nephew, Jeff McGarey and his wife, Yami, and their son, Sol; grandson, Mike Stephenson and his wife, Dana and their children, Chris, Nick, and Dillon; end extended family members in England.
Charlie will be missed dearly by his loving family and friends.
