On June 13th, 2020, Carolyn Hicks Crane, loving wife and mother of six children, passed away at age 77 in Thousand Oaks, CA after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was born January 2, 1943 to parents Leland and Leonore Hicks in Chicago, Illinois. Carolyn attended Brigham Young University in Utah. She returned home to Evanston, Illinois where she met Gary M. Crane. They were married July 18th, 1964 in the Manti Utah LDS temple. Carolyn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved to be of service to others and in addition to volunteering at church in numerous positions, she was involved with Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Boy Scouts of America, and PTA. She was passionate about emergency preparedness and was always looking for ways to improve the world around her. After spending many years travelling the globe with her husband, and serving others in the community, she was discovering a love of growing fruits trees and herbs to share with family and friends. Carolyn is survived by her husband Gary; her children, Cordell, Cynthia, Melanie, Clarke, Celia, and Janel; eighteen grandchildren, and her siblings Leanne Allphin, Marilyn Morgan, John Hicks, and Russell Hicks. A family service will be held on June 18th, 2020 at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park in Westlake Village, Ca.
