Maxine was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on June 17th, 1929 to Lillian Carol and Herbert Church. In 1943, Maxine and her family moved to Hollywood, where she graduated from Hollywood High School, class of 1946.
In 1947, Maxine married William Bell Fulton, who preceded her in death in 2001. They lived in Granada Hills for 40 years where they lovingly raised their three children, Karen, Jeff and Carol Ann.
Maxine started working part-time for the LA County’s Tax Collector’s office. With her dynamic personality and leadership skills, she quickly became a Manager in charge of the Tax Deeded Land Auction. She excelled in her career but was happy to retire and move with Bill to Merlin, Oregon.
Maxine and Bill loved creating their beautiful home and garden and it quickly became “Party Central”, where they hosted countless celebrations and parades with their much loved family and friends. Her family, home, garden and friends were truly her pride and joy.
Always a lover of life, in her 80’s Maxine began dating Col. William Doody, MD and in 2014 they were married. Dr. Doody preceded her in death in 2018. Although their time together was brief, they enjoyed every moment.
Maxine is survived by her three children, Karen Hamilton (Craig), Jeff Fulton (Radmila) and Carol Ann Porter (Gwen Walden) her five Grandchildren and four (soon to be five) Great Grandchildren and her sister, Beverly Archer.
A celebration of Maxine’s life will take place at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village, CA 91362 on November 16, 2019 at 1pm.
