Billy George Shields

Billy (Bill) George Shields 86, Camarillo, CA entered eternal life surrounded by his family on April 19, 2023 after a short illness. Bill was born on February 25, 1937 to Engle and Leona Shields of Van Nuys, CA and was the seventh of nine children.

Bill met the love of his life Mary Jane Markow (aka Trudy) in 1955. His family lived on the same street as her Grandparents. They married on December 1, 1956 and welcome five children in seven years. In 1963, they moved to a brand new home in Simi Valley, CA where they lived for 12 years, then moved the family to Newbury Park where they lived for 25 years until Bill retired and moved to Menifee, CA. They loved their new community and joined several clubs, went on cruises and made several cross-country road trips. Eventually they moved to Camarillo to be closer to their children.

Bill worked as a laborer in the Carpenters Union and did construction with his brothers for many years, then became a General Contractor in 1980 until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Allen Shields who entered eternal life on February 26, 2023, his parents Engle & Leona Shields, brothers: Kenneth Shields, Harry Shields, Ray Shields and Jimmy Shields and sister Barbara Satterfield.

He is survived by his loving wife Trudy: their two fur babies, Missy & Heidi: Sons, Billy Shields, Kris Shields, Kory Shields (Kim), Daughter Kellee Nelson (Chris) and Daughter in-law Jessica (Mark): grandchildren Amanda Holland, Heather Brown (Lowell), Cody Shields (Kat), Aymee Palmer (Matt), Kaitlin Shields, Travis Shields (Sarah), Dylan Shields (Alyssa), Molly Shields, Amber Shields, Kyle Nelson and 13 great-grandchildren. His brother Jack Shields and sisters Evelyn Winters and Jonie Mitchell and many nieces and nephews who all adored him so much.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 - 10:00 am at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Mortuary, Westlake Village, CA.
