WALTER ALEXANDER SCHELGUNOV, age 82, passed away Friday, October 25, 2025. Beloved husband of Gloria (nee Adams); dear father of Jo Schelgunov, Laura Nevels (Danny), Kim Schelgunov (Marisa), and Donna Bernardini; loving grandfather of Cassidy, Matt, Nick, Sophie, Sebastian and Adam; brother of the late Grace and Nancy; uncle of many.
Wally graduated from Max Hayes High school and served in all four branches of the armed forces. This included four years in the Air Force, three years in the Marines, four years in the Navy, and seven years in the Army. He was very proud of his military service time.
Wally was known as a prankster and loved to make people laugh. After retirement one of his favorite pastimes was going to auctions and gardening. He never passed up a free deal, no matter what kind of junk it was He would think of a use for it. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
Come celebrate Wally’s life Sunday November 3, from 3-5pm in the Corrigan Craciun Funeral home, 23040 Center Ridge Rd. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Monday November 4 at 12:30pm. Interment Resthaven.
