Beloved husband of Toni L. (nee Simyak) Becker, loving father of Ronald (Elizabeth) Becker, and Noel (Mary) Becker. He was Papa to Mia Becker, Brian Becker, Megan Becker, Katherine Becker, Lauren Becker, and Genevieve Becker. He is survived by his brother, Robert (Marie, deceased) Becker, nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by his brother, James, and his parents, Charles and Elizabeth (nee Schiettecatte) Becker.
Ron will be remembered as a man who could build or fix just about anything. His hands were rarely idle, always crafting, repairing, or restoring something with care and precision. He had a lifelong passion for Model A cars, spending countless hours in the garage lovingly restoring them to their former glory. It wasn't just a hobby—it was a way of life that brought him joy, pride, and deep satisfaction, helping and teaching others about the craft of car restoration along the way. Ron was also an avid skier, fly fisherman and hockey player and coach for many years.
Ron was born in Cleveland and attended St. Edward High School. He was drafted and served in the US Army as a weapons specialist from 1963 to 1965, and after earned degrees from John Carroll University and Baldwin Wallace University. He spent the majority of his professional career as a senior consultant at Eaton Corporation. He was known for his steady leadership, practical thinking, and an unwavering dedication to doing things the right way. Whether he was on the factory floor or in a meeting, Ron approached his work with integrity and a calm, capable presence that earned him the respect of colleagues and employees alike.
But more than anything, Ron was a devoted family man. He was the proud father of two sons and the beloved “Papa” to six grandchildren, who adored him for his gentle nature, his sense of humor, and the way he always made time for them. Whether he was teaching them how to use a wrench, cheering them on from the sidelines, or simply offering a quiet moment of comfort, Ron's love for his family was evident in everything he did. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and craftsmanship will live on in all who knew him.
