I was one of the fortunate to have the distinct pleasure of working with Nick at the Sheriffs office. Selfishly, I was sad to see him move onto Cleveland PD but happy for him at the same time. I always kept in touch with him and the tragic news of his loss has left a void. I think of him daily. 
Rest in peace my friend, see you on the other side...

My heart truly aches for all of Nick's family. Especially for his devastated Mom, Jeanne, his heartbroken sister, Kristy, and the daughters who must now grow up without their amazing father. As we exited the church following Nick's services, I literally lost my balance and had to suck in my breath as I saw Nick's other family; his brothers & sisters in uniform, as they stood at attention, En mass, in the street. May God bless and watch over EVERY SINGLE ONE of those touched and deeply impacted by this tremendous loss. May GOD BLESS you Nick and keep you in His loving presence. 💖💖💖

I learned of Nick's loss on the 16th or would have called you sooner.  You know, he and my Melissa share their birthdays.  I had forgotten that.

I had Nick in my class at the Bay Middle School for half a year as permanent sub. He was the sweetest and most helpful student in the class! I will never forget him and so sad that he obviously struggled. It is such a great loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family that you can get through this loss.  May he Rest In Peace!

I will miss your sense of humor the most. One of the good ones

Nick was such a wonderful person with a big heart. He was on duty in New Lexington Ohio when my daughter passed away. He was there for all of us thru this rough time. He will never be forgotten! RIH Nick you are missed and loved by many!

I have so many fond memories of Nick. The last time I saw Nick he did what he always did best and helped us catch 4 guys with  guns. After it was over, he busted my chops about where my better half, Johnny Harris, was and if we were still not speaking. Lol Then he drove away. I wish I had that moment again. Nick you were an awesome cop. Fair winds and following seas, bro. See you one day.

Nick, you always stood up for what you believed in and you went all out for the city you served.  You were a good policeman and a good man. I’ll always respect that. By the way, you still owe me lunch. I’ll collect on the other side. Rest In Peace buddy.

I knew Nick when he was a 15- 17 year old soccer official when I was Director of Referees for his home town of Bay Village. Nick was a very fair and honest young man whom I was proud to work soccer matches with, and even prouder when he became a police officer. I knew he had found his calling. I last had a chance to talk with him and his mother, Jean in 2008. I was so sorry to hear of his passing at such a young age. My heartfelt condolences to his entire family, friends, and the officers Nick served with.

I never met Nick but have several fond and fun memories with his  sister and my friend, Kristy, who I know loved and adored her little brother. My heart hurts for the family, all of CPD & the other forces where he had worked, and for the many whose lives Nick touched. You have touched mine, even though we never knew each other. Thank you so much for your dedication and service to the communities in which you performed one of the hardest jobs out there. I respect you and appreciate you.  Rest easy. 

Nick, I will always remember meeting you. We became good friends. You joined the Clinton Township Police Department under my watch, I was so honored to present you with your first job in Law Enforcement. We kept in touch during your years in Cleveland. I regret we never met up as we talked about. Rest easy buddy.


Nick will be missed.   I first met him working in Perry co and I was the State Parole Officer.   He was always willing to help    Which resulted in laughs and some crazy stories.    We both moved on to other positions and kept in touch.    Mostly after midnight when he often was inquiring on a state parolee who was in violation.......    I will miss those calls and the friendship we had.    
RIP Brother.   

Nick, we met you when you came into our store to buy lottery tickets.  You kept coming back and became a friend!  Steve enjoyed joking with you, and continued to do so after your move to Cleveland. You were a good cop, a good husband, a good dad, and a good friend.  I hope you are singing in heaven with your beloved grandpa. My deepest sympathies to Brienne, your children, your mom and sister. You will be so missed. 

I’m so sorry for your loss.  Nick will be missed by many.  I loved  seeing him at work he always had a smile on his face.  I was one of his supervisors 
in the Fourth District and let me tell you he was a pleasure too work with. May all of us  that love and miss him have peace knowing that he will be watching  over us with God’s permission.   I thank God that I got a chance to meet Nicholas M. Sabo.  🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️❤️

I first met Nick when he worked for the Crooksville Police Department, young kid with a great heart for the job and a huge amount of ambition. Later I was Nick's supervisor at Perry County Sheriffs Office. Nick was a handful but a pleasure to work with. For me to give just one memory is impossible there are to many. Nick and I remained friends after he went to work for Cleveland Police Department, it was always good to talk to him. His greeting hows it going LT made me smile along with a good story he had to tell. Nick was one those officrs that made an impact on everyone he met. Nick will be missed dearly, we lost a good one. GOD BLESS YOU AND GOD BLESS NICK'S FAMILY. Rest easy my friend.

Thank you so much for your service to the community, Mr. Sabo. You are loved and missed by many. Your family and friends are in my prayers. I hope you and all of them find eternal joy, peace, and light. 

I remember when I was a kid and nick was a cop in Crooksville in my little town I was like obsessed with him lol he was my role model I always wanted to go up to the cruiser and talk to him when I seen him at circle K but at one point I was doing some bad stuff at 11 or 12 years old lieing not listening to my mom and not going to school my made him come down in uniform and talk to me scared me to death but I started acting right I don’t know if I would be straight if he didn’t do that him and my grandmas Sister Donna Neff was really close friends for my birthday one year she got me a picture made off of nick in uniform and it said happy birthday Kassidy and had my birthdate on it you was such a good person and will never be forgotten love you till we meet again my friend 💕❤️😞

He was always kind to everyone. You will be missed  cousin. RIP.

Nick was a great friend . He trained me in the 4th district and was one of the best cops I’ve ever worked with . Nick loved his job and gave his all . He was always teaching me and showing me the way . I called nick my work dad , I looked up to him . Nick would always fill the roll call room with laughter and really knew how to bring everyone close together . I’ll miss Nick making me stop to get him donuts and me having to tell him to watch his sugars. Nick sure did love his sweets ... and pizza. I remember getting in foot pursuit with him once and he couldn’t get over the fence after we ate donuts. I was laughing so hard and he told me “ I’ll meet you on the other side Santa Claus” Nick loved to make up jokes about my last name.  I’m so thankful to have been in Nicks life and having him as a friend . Nick had a huge impact on me and I will miss him so much . Work won’t be the same . I love you Nick , thank you for the memories .. Rest in Heaven. I’ll never forget you.
