Bunny devoted her life to her family and her faith. Her grandchildren lovingly remember Nana’s Little Library filled with storybooks of the saints and bible stories. Throughout her life she found ways to bring joy to others. She is fondly remembered for beautifully decorated sugar cookies that she made with love for hundreds of occasions. Making cookies together was a tradition enjoyed by her children and grandchildren. In addition, she loved attending concerts and athletic events to support her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed seeing the Singing Angels perform having both generations involved in the organization. She loved the theatre, especially when her grandchildren were on stage and attended several high school football games to enjoy the marching band shows at halftime. Over the years she loved to support various soccer, basketball, lacrosse, baseball and softball teams.
She had a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother and Divine Mercy, teaching her children and grandchildren how to pray. Bunny was a longtime member of St. Christopher Parish and served several terms as the president of the Ladies Guild. She was the editor of the parish newspaper in the 70’s and 80’s, and was actively involved with the Christ Renews Our Parish program. Bunny started and facilitated the Marian Prayer Hour and Rosary at St. Christopher for several years. In the mid 1980’s she served as president of the St. Edward High School Mother’s Club. For the last 20 years Bunny and Bob have been members of St. Wendelin Parish in Cleveland where she enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School and served as a Lector. She enjoyed attending daily Mass at St. Paul’s Shrine and served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector there for many years.
In 2010, Bunny’s life changed when she suffered a stroke and embarked on a journey of recovery. With the unconditional love of her husband, she lived a fulfilling life for almost 11 more years. Bob was her primary caregiver for several years providing her experiences that enriched both of their lives. Their nearly 57 year marriage was a true love story and an inspiration to all.
For the past 3 years, Bunny and Bob have been blessed to have Bertha Safo join the family as their primary caregiver. Her love and dedication to Bunny was comforting to the family. God truly sent them an angel when Bertha started her time with the Beckers.
