A graduate of Euclid High School and Miami University (Oxford, OH), Lois married her high school sweetheart, the late Jerry Foust, in 1966. She began her professional career as a registered dietician, but soon took on the full time responsibility of raising two sons. Lois was a caring, loving, and generous daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, who didn’t miss the opportunity to share good news about her family - especially about her grandkids. She enjoyed spending time with friends, cherished deep and meaningful conversation, and derived great joy by giving to others through thoughtful gifts and random acts of kindness.
An experienced cross-stitcher, Lois’ stitching creations won awards at county fairs and local craft shows. She loved animals, but had a true passion for cats, and volunteered at a local cat shelter for many years. A loyal Cleveland sports fan, she loved to watch and follow the Cleveland Indians and was also a 20-year Cleveland Browns season ticket holder.
Lois is survived by her loving children, Dan Foust (Michelle) and Tim Foust (Erin); six treasured grandchildren - Jeremy, Julia, Kyle, Luke, Madelyn, and Bennett; her sister Karen (Butzback) and two nephews Mike and Gary (Katie). Lois was also preceded in death by her second husband Jerry Snyder, and brother-in-law, Charles.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at John Knox Presbyterian Church (25200 Lorain Rd. North Olmsted) at 10:00am on Friday, January 7.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or to John Knox Presbyterian Church in her honor and memory.
