JOHN H. ILG, age 97, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Carolyn A. (nee Foote); Loving father of Gavin C, Gary M. (Terese), G. Tracy; and the late infant twins Mary and Bernadette; loving grandfather of Alex, Eric, Cooper, Bridget, James and Sam; brother of the late William J. Ilg, Jr, Blanche Heller, Charles Ilg, and Grace Ilg; half-brother of Mark Ilg; uncle of many.
John retired as Senior VP of Finance and Administration for Davy McKee Corporation. John was a long time member of Westwood Country Club and was an avid golfer.
John was an investing and stock market guru and always liked to "tumble the numbers." For many years, John and his family worked hard on and enjoyed time at their cottage at Candlewood Lake, also jokingly known as "Ilg's Back Acre" for both its land size and its impact to our major muscles. John always loved telling a good joke... over and over again.
Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, December 12, at 11:30am in St. Bernadette Church, 2256 Clague Rd. Interment Lakewood Park Cemetery. Come celebrate John’s life Thursday, from 10-11am in the Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 23040 Center Ridge Rd.
