Dearest brother of and survived by Muzamal, Baji Jahn, Samia and Rabia;
Born in Pakistan, one of thirteen children, Asif Chaudhry graduated from King Edward Medical College, Punjab University, Lahore Pakistan. He made his way to the U.S. in 1965 to further his medical training. He became a member of the Fairview Medical Staff, met and married Melanie, his devoted wife of 51 years. Dr. Chaudhry completed his fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at Ohio State University and went on to become a pioneer in the field. He founded the Fairview Cancer Program, and played a key role in the development of his lifetime dream, the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center at Fairview Hospital, Moll Pavilion. Dr. Chaudhry was involved in clinical research and passionate about teaching medical students and residents.He continued to practice until the age of 77 because he loved taking care his patients, remaining in touch with many for decades. Dr. Chaudhry was an avid traveler and connoisseur of fine foods, culture and music. His curiosity and positivity inspired all who knew him. His generosity and love of life can be seen in his nieces, nephews and grandchildren, continuing Dr. Chaudhry’s legacy.
A Celebration of Life will follow in the new year post pandemic.
Current services will be private with entombment at Lakewood Park Cemetery
