He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. Roy was a retired Pipe Fitter with Conoco\Vista. He met the love of his life, Jeannette Dellwo, and together they raised 8 children. They were together for 38 years before Jeannette passed away in September of 2000. Roy was an avid gardener who spent many hours in his vegetable garden, often recruiting his children to harvest and weed right alongside of him. In his later years he developed his talent for painting and has a collection of landscapes that he loved. During racing season, Nascar was a staple on the television Saturday and Sunday’s and he and his companion, Twila Mallett, kept a running cometary of their favorite drivers.
Roy is predeceased wife; Jeannette Oldham; daughter, Michelle Sacksteader, and son; Joseph Oldham. He is survived by his companion; Twila Mallett; daughters; Kristy (James Edgar) Mims, Shannon (Scott) McInnis, Neala O’Connor, Rhonda (Scott) Folds, sons; Patrick (Lonnie) O’Connor, Michael O’Connor, 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, brother; Thomas Oldham, and wife, Barbara.
