Margie M. Simmons Roach, 89, passed away at the home of her daughter, Patricia, in Carnegie, PA. on July 10, 2022. Margie was born on August 3, 1932 in Ragley, LA. to Emaline Augustine (Gussie Lee) Busby and LeRoy Simmons. Margie lived most of her life on Smith Ferry Rd in Westlake. When she was in better health, she loved mowing and keeping her yard neat, which included moving anything she decided was in the wrong place, no matter how heavy it was. She would always find a way to move it. In addition, she loved rearranging the furniture in her house, crocheting, embroidery, and playing Candy Crush on her tablet. Margie loved reading her Bible and had read it thirteen times from cover to cover. She was a faith-filled woman and prayed for her family regularly.
She is survived by her children, Mavis Roach Harger (Brian), Rusty Roach (Donna), Patricia Roach LaPolt (Ronald), Eddie Roach and Linda Roach Cox (David). She had seventeen grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
Margie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Newton Arthur Roach; children, Carolyn Jean Roach, Debra Ann Roach Stevison, and Henry (Andy) Roach. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Simmons, Melvin Sargent, Lloyd Sargent, Jimmy Sargent; and her sister, Maudell Sargent Langley.
Margie was loved by all who met her.
Special thanks go out to her neighbor in Carnegie, PA, Ondi, for befriending her and cooking her special treats. Also, thanks go to the AHN hospice team, Liz, Jody, Miley, and especially to her "little preacher man," Wray!
