Westlake- Larry Thomas Elliott, 76, died Friday, September 13, 2013, at his residence doing what he loved most of all, working in his shop.
He was born June 23, 1937 in Westlake where he remained throughout his life. Larry retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service and also retired from P.P.G. Industries. He was a member and past Master of the Masonic Lodge 443. Larry enjoyed working in his shop, watching football, riding motorcycles, and was in the process of restoring an old Mustang with his grandson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 21 years, Altha Q. Elliott; his two sons, Jon Thomas Asmundsson and wife, Inga Lara, and Richard Magnus "Michael" Elliott and wife, all of Reykjavik, Iceland; daughter, Beth Phillips of San Diego, California; five step-children, Monty Chisolm and wife, Simonia, Quintin Chisolm, Keitha Henagan and husband, Jimmy, Kari Sokolow and husband, Mark, and Tim Chisolm and wife, Pretie; twelve grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Larry Elliott and Ruby Fewell; his grandson, Ryan Sisco; and a son-in-law, Ronald Sisco.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, in Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Monty Chisolm will officiate. Burial will be in Pilley Cemetery in Westlake.
