Joe went to meet his maker on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 4:25pm. He was a man of few words – so when he talked all listened. Born on November 23, 1939 to Joe and Ernestine Hebert in Church Point, LA with siblings Garland Hebert, Ella Mae Bertrand, Iris Richard and Larry Hebert. He was employed for 35 years at Sears as a mechanic and retired as Assistant Manager. He then worked at Dimmick’s Auto Supply in Westlake as head mechanic. His last employment before retirement was his own mechanic shop, J&H Auto in Westlake. His hobby was racing sports cars for 25 years as a member of the S.W. Sports Car Club and his relaxation came from watching football and car racing on TV. He had a passion for Cajun French music and listened to 88.7 every Sunday morning and really enjoyed his family. He married Elizabeth Grace “Gracie” Trahan on December 13, 1958 in St. John Bosco Catholic Church where they remained members and had 3 children, Anthony “Tony” Hebert and wife, Susan, Vickie Hebert Landry and husband, Keith “Lil Red” and Stephanie Hebert Dugas and husband, Scott. Carrying his legacy are his 4 grandchildren that he loved and lived every day for, Trent Landry, Quince Landry, Morgan Dugas and Aimee Hebert.
