She was born in Lake Charles and lived in Ragley where she was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was an educator having taught in Calcasieu, Sabine and Beauregard Parishes. Donna was a graduate of Westlake High School and McNeese State University. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She valued family and was happiest when sharing the company of friends and family.
She is survived by her sons, John Areno and spouse Donna of Shreveport; David Areno and spouse Camille of Granbury, TX; Matt Areno and spouse Cylinda of Round Rock, TX; daughter, Christy Moss and spouse Bob of Ragley; grandchildren, John “Jay” Areno and spouse Morgan, Alec Areno and spouse Gaby, Zachary Areno, Audrey Areno, Jordan Areno, Dallin Areno, Nathan Areno, Landon Areno, Katherine Moss, Slater Areno, Sara Areno, Fred Areno, Henry Areno and Eleanor Areno.
Grandsons will be serving as Pallbearers.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 2, 2020 from 11am until 2pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Graveside will follow at 3pm at Magnolia Cemetery. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
