Charles was a life long resident of Westlake. While being enlisted in the United Marine Corps, he served two tours in the Vietnam War where he was a E-3 L/Cpl rifleman. He received several medals including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Rifle Marksman Badge.
Those left to cherish his memory are two brothers, Ray Eggleston, Jr. and his wife Susan and Ronnie Eggleston both of Westlake and three nieces, Megan, Joni Ra, and Mallory Eggleston.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Laura Eggleston.
Visitation will be held at Hixson funeral home of Westlake on Friday, June 19, 2020 beginning at 9:00am until service time. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm in the funeral home officiated by Pastor Kevin Funderburk. Interment will be immediately following in Highland Memorial Gardens in Lake Charles.
