Richard Alan Savage

Alan will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Maureen (nee Bell), his children, Ken (Karen), Kathy (Colin) & Chris (Silvia) and Grandchildren Michael, Gillian, Andrew, Aaron, Josh, Danielle & Sophie as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Born in Vancouver on February 3, 1935, Alan grew up in Point Grey before moving to West Vancouver with Maureen in 1965.

Alan graduated from UBC in Mechanical Engineering in 1959 and worked as a Professional Engineer for over 40 years until his retirement in 2001. He spent several years working offshore including time living in Tuzla, Yugoslavia and Jakarta, Indonesia.

Both Alan & Maureen loved to travel and visited many countries including China, Russia & various European countries.

When not in Vancouver or abroad, Alan could be found skiing at Whistler.

Funeral will take place at 12:30 Friday, November 18th at Hollyburn Funeral Home, 1807 Marine Drive, West Vancouver. A Celebration of Life will follow in the afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lions Gate Hospital Foundation.
