Born and raised in Richmond, B.C. Mike passed away June 28, 2011 at Inglewood Care Centre, West Vancouver. He is survived by his wife Shirley (Weir), sons Ross (Ruth), David (Sharon) and grandchildren, Hannah, Gareth and Isaac. Following service in the RCAF, Mike attended UBC and graduated with a degree in Architecture, and was a member of the UBC Engineering Fraternity. He was the Chief Building Inspector of the Municipality of Burnaby from 1953 until his retirement in 1984. The family wishes to thank the staff at Inglewood for their care and compassion. A Celebration of Mike’s life will be held at Hollyburn Funeral Home, 1807 Marine Drive, West Vancouver, B.C. on Wednesday July 6 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the B.C. Children’s Hospital in Mike’s memory.
