Mrs. Mary Sylvia Ziola

With saddened hearts, we realize that the wind beneath our wings has left us. On June 2, 2013, our beloved wife, loving mother, treasured Baba and a teacher extraordinaire began a new peaceful journey after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Her entire family remained with her throughout. Sylvia was born in Kenville, Manitoba, October 26, 1936 to John and Antonia Tataryn. Her memory and love will remain with us forever.

Sylvia leaves her life-long companion and love of fifty-seven years, husband Stan; daughter, Kelly-Lynn (Bill); son, Tim (Fran); and her amazing grandchildren, Mark, Jordan, Sean and Evanne, who were so dear to her. Sylvia loved family, flowers, gourmet cooking, sports, travel and watching and teaching her grandchildren how to be their own person. Her great4est desire was for her children and grandchildren to travel the world to appreciate other cultures and customs and to value their own lives and their country. Sylvia explored many countries, learning and sharing wonderful memories with all. The family sincerely appreciates the support and love received from family and friends, Dr. C. Bazilli and the staff of Lions Gate Hospital. Special thanks go to the North Shore Hospice staff for their kindness and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Shore Hospice in Sylvia’s name would be greatly appreciated. A private Celebration of Life will be held by her family.
