Mrs. Marjorie Olive Denham

Marnie passed away peacefully on Saturday January 9, 2016 at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, she was 91. Born and raised in Galt, Ontario, she was a Mothercraft Nurse until she married Harry in 1948. Marnie was a loving mother raising 4 children while moving over 20 times in 67 years of a wonderful marriage. She and Harry met on the Soper Park tennis courts in Galt and enjoyed dancing, tennis and golf (she even had a hole-in-one), skiing and curling together and as a family. She volunteered at North York Hospital and the Food Bank at church in Galt. She loved decorating. During our company year in Japan, she loved Japanese art objects and was certified in Ikebana flower arranging. Her flower arrangements and Japanalia have decorated many friends’ houses and Donalda Meadows and Galt Country Clubs. Marnie was a loving wife and companion for all the family interests and sports despite arthritis limiting her in later years. She is sadly missed by Harry, her loving husband of 67 years, her caring children John (Nancy), Susan, and Jane. Our beloved son Robbie predeceased her at age 32. She will be missed by her 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Our Mutual ashes will someday be buried at our gravestone in Mountview Cemetery in Galt area of Cambridge. There will not be a funeral service but a family memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
