Harold James Baker

Harold James Baker, age 101, born, May 6, 1910, in Lilliput, Dorset, England, and living, independently, until July 22, 2011, passed away peacefully at Lions' Gate Hospital, North Vancouver, on October 2, 2011.

Lovingly remembered by his daughter, Yolande Baker, Cousins Tom and Susan Boad, Shirley and Mick Odell, Ian Miller, Helen and John Wanford, Colin and Anne Mendham, Joe and Susan Mendham, Lois and Kevin Palmer, Cristina Manicom and Alban Allafort, together with all their children and grandchildren.

Harold was predeceased by his wife, Mary Hannah Baker, nee Boad, on December 21, 2003.

"A perfect gentleman, on that we are agreed

A superb business accumen, knew how to meet a need

Accompanied with a work ethic of Tarzan, Hal was ever a very busy man,

Smart, polite, pure delight,

and, unashamedly, a Dorset boy all his life, and always the true Lilliputian in love with his wife."

A private Celebration of Hal's life will be held on October 29, 2011. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nite of Hope, North Shore.
