Mr. Gerald Humphrey Tanner

It is with great sorrow that we announced the death of our father, Gerald Humphrey Tanner after a brief illness. His life spanned many accomplishments with family, work and community. From his active service with the RAF during the Second World War to a career in engineering in England and Canada, he always considered family a priority. He was predeceased by his wife of over sixty years Hazel Mary Tanner (Smith) and his brothers Robert and Geoffrey Tanner.

He will be missed by his children Anthony, Adrian and Jill, and spouses Heather, Doreen and Tie. He stayed in close contact with his grandchildren Christopher, Sarah, Roy, Kate, Taylor and Kelly. He was a proud great grand parent of Jack, Max, Raphaelle, Michelle, Kye, Coco and his newest great grandchild Tanner.

He was an active part of life in Lion’s Bay. He was fortunate in his many friends. The family thanks those people who helped him in many ways over the last years and the doctors and nurses at Lion’s Gate Hospital who cared for him in his last hours.

Gerry (Bob) touched many lives and valued his family. He will be greatly missed.

A remembrance service will be held at Hollyburn Funeral Home, 1807 Marine Drive, West Vancouver, BC on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 1:00 pm.
